SCHAEFER & BIERLEIN PLATZ -
Frankenmuth
This new vehicle display
provides the local Chrysler dealership with a highly visible corner
location. Designscapes, Inc. was responsible for all design
work with this project, from preliminary concepts through detailing
for the retaining walls, pavements, display towers, grading,
plantings, and lighting.
Elements were chosen to
coordinate with Frankenmuth's streetscape and to create a park-like
setting. We solicited bids for
masonry/flatwork, carpentry, electrical, asphalt, landscape,
irrigation, and flagpoles. During the construction phase, we
provided project management services to the owner. Project was
completed on time and on budget.

CHILDREN'S ZOO AT
CELEBRATION SQUARE – Saginaw
"Wetlands Experience"
The zoo’s building committee selected Designscapes, Inc. to re-design the zoo pond, creating an aquatic habitat appropriate for its central location.
To eliminate past problems, the new half-acre pond was transformed from a stagnant, leaking pool into a functioning ecosystem. Designscapes, Inc. designed filtration wetlands and rain gardens to improve water quality in the pond.
In addition to the new pond, Designscapes, Inc. designed
an 8' high waterfall, a biological water filtration system, two pedestrian bridges, boardwalks, ramps, a fish feeding station, and an underwater viewing area.
The zoo’s fundraising campaign included graphic presentation boards created by Designscapes, Inc.
Wolf Exhibit "Extreme Makeover"
Designscapes, Inc. collaborated with zoo staff, Erth-Con
Excavating, Inc., and Falling Waters to rebuild and enhance the wolf
exhibit. In five working days the exhibit was transformed from
desolate to fantastic.

FRANKENMUTH RIVER PLACE – Frankenmuth
Design and project management for the entire site, including three major water features moving a total of 3,600 gallons per minute. This project also included 1100 tons of limestone to construct retaining walls and pathways to two boat docks along the Cass River.

BUOY 18 MINIATURE GOLF – Bay City
Landscape and irrigation design for hilly terrain created entirely from fill sand
and covered with concrete paths and mountains. The plant palette
(shrubs, perennials, annuals, and temporary tropical plants) maximizes visual interest during the play season. |
DDA STREET TREE PLANTINGS –
Kochville Township
We
developed landscape
plans, selected street trees, and created planting details and
specifications. This work updated and enhanced the new
intersections, creating an identity for this commercial corridor.
We collaborated with Spicer Engineering on this project. |
