Our Landscape Design
Service |
 |
Designscapes, Inc. has helped numerous past clients achieve the results
they desire. In working with us you will receive significant benefits.
You will be collaborating with an experienced design team to create the
look you want. Once completed, this design gives you the option of
either installing the work yourself or receiving "apples to apples" bids
for the installation by others. This competitive bidding process
usually more than pays for creating the design and bid documents. The
result is an outstanding design, a competitive price, and someone to
follow through with the installation. |
|
Our design
approach is as follows:
-
An initial consultation at your site to
discuss the project.
-
Measure the areas of your property slated for
improvement.
-
Complete a base plan showing existing
structures and significant plants and trees.
-
Work with you to create several concept plans
to evaluate.
-
Complete construction drawings based on the
concept plan you approve.
-
Develop bid documents, solicit contractor
bids, and evaluate the bids with you.
Your landscape
installation contract will be between you and the contractor of your
choice. Designscapes does not serve as a general contractor or add a
percentage on to the work. This allows us to be your advocate during the
planning and implementation of your project.
Designscapes can
also provide you with project management services during the
installation of your landscape, to ensure that your project is completed
per plan and bid by:
-
Holding regular meeting at your site with your
contractor, checking the work and ensuring compliance with the
design.
-
Solving problems if any occur.
-
Reviewing contractor billings.
-
Provide follow-up as required to complete the
project to your satisfaction.
- Ensure completion
of warranty work.

About Landscape
Architecture
Landscape architecture has a long
rich history in America. Early examples range from private estates like
Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, to entire city plans like Pierre L'Enfant's design of Washington, DC, to public gathering spaces like San
Francisco's Pershing Square. The term "landscape architecture"
first came into common use in the mid 1800s when Frederick Law Olmsted
designed New York City's Central Park. Olmsted is considered the father
of American landscape architecture.Today, as technical experts,
artistic designers, and environmental stewards, landscape architects
create and manage environments for people. Good landscape architecture
offers many benefits in addition to aesthetic and environmental ones,
such as increased property value and productivity, lowered maintenance
and capital costs, and enhanced public health and safety.
