CHILDREN'S ZOO AT CELEBRATION SQUARE --
New Aquatic Exhibit -- Saginaw
The zoo’s building committee selected Designscapes, Inc. to re-design the zoo pond, creating a
"wetlands experience" aquatic habitat appropriate for its central location.
To eliminate past problems, the new half-acre pond was transformed from a stagnant, leaking pool into a functioning ecosystem. Designscapes, Inc. designed filtration wetlands and rain gardens to improve water quality in the pond.
In addition to the new pond, Designscapes, Inc. designed a waterfall 8 feet high, a biological water filtration system, two pedestrian bridges, boardwalks, ramps, a fish feeding station, and an underwater viewing area.
The zoo’s fundraising campaign included graphic presentation boards created by Designscapes, Inc.

REXER-JABLONSKI PARK – Bay City
Designscapes, Inc. was a consultant to Hamilton Anderson Associates during the design and construction of this park. We participated in this project from initial public meetings to the final installation and punch list. In addition, our firm was the lead designer for the Fraternal Order of Police monument incorporated into
Rexer Jablonski Park. Designscapes, Inc. was the project manager during park construction. We were responsible for overseeing the general contractor, stone installer, site work contractor, and landscape contractor. Designscapes, Inc. also negotiated the burial of SBC phone lines and installation of sleeves for future street lighting at no cost to the City of Bay City. This project was completed on time and below budget. |

KROSSROADS PARK – Kochville Township
For this new "accessible" playground park, Designscapes, Inc. provided design services for site development, including storm water management, signage, irrigation,
and plantings. We also participated in the park's pavilion design. During the project installation, we were responsible for placement of plant material and supervision of work by volunteers, landscape and irrigation contractors. |
