Award-Winning Landscape Design in Michigan

Waterfalls, Ponds & Water Gardens

Whether a small babbling brook or a tumultuous cascade, water features add sound, movement, and enjoyment into the landscape. They also provide opportunities for incorporating pond and wetland plants into your landscape design. The choice and placement of boulders, stonework, and plantings can link the water feature with your building and property, creating a unified landscape composition.

Ponds may be a major feature in the landscape. They may be constructed with a liner or with a soil bottom, depending on the soil type and water table. Waterfalls and streams always need a liner of some type to prevent the moving water from eroding the soil. A pond does not have to be large to be a welcome addition to a front or backyard landscape, but it should be easy to maintain.

Let Designscapes, Inc. bring your vision to reality.  We will work with your topography, landscape setting, and budget to create the custom water feature for your property.

Fountains can be constructed with a piece of liner, gravel, and a small pump. Oriental water features can be very simple and relatively low cost.

Another way to enjoy water in a natural environment is to add boulders to a pool or spa, or even a waterfall from the spa to the pool.  See our page "Pools & Spas" for those photos.
